How do I choose the size of my bangle?

The bangle bracelet (in silver, gold plating or stainless steel) is a closed rigid bracelet. As such, it does not open, but rather slips over the hand. Its size therefore differs from a bracelet with a clasp, which adjusts to sit close to the wrist.

Your bangle bracelet is the right size when sliding the bangle over your hand is met with a slight resistance: this ensures that you will not loose the bracelet.

Note that the hand is wider than the wrist and so it is the length of your hand circumference that you need to know in order to accurately determine the size your bangle should be!

So you have never worn a closed rigid bangle and therefore don't know what size to go for. Not to worry: simply use a seamstress' measuring tape to measure your hand circumference!

Here are a few tips for taking this measurement and determining your size:

  1. Hold your thumb against the palm of your hand prior to passing the measuring tape around your hand: you can thus determine the measurement at the point at which your hand is the widest.
  2. Take the measurement where the tape crosses over.
  3. Consult the table below to determine the bangle size that corresponds to your hand circumference!
Hand circumferenceBangle size (internal diameter)
Maximum 17 cm54 mm: child
Maximum 19.5 cm62 mm: adult, slim to medium wrist
Maximum 20.7 cm66 mm: adult, medium to large wrist

We also offer a tutorial that you can download and print out: you can thus cut out your paper ruler and take your measurement with ease!
