How does it work?

1. Take a picture

Photograph your child's drawing, hand/finger/footprint, written words, or simply scan them.

2. Personalise your piece of jewellery

Select your favourite piece of jewellery or accessory and use our personalisation tool to upload your child's drawing, or type the text of your choice. Then proceed to checkout.

3. Receive your piece of jewellery

You will receive your one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery directly in your letter box.

Tips

  • Based on your engraving project

According to what you wish to engrave, select the appropriate charm size using our charm size guide.

  • Felt-tip drawings work best!

The rendering once engraved works best with felt-tip drawings. To make sure no detail is lost, avoid pencil or pastel drawings.

  • Use white paper.

Avoid squared, lined or dark paper.

  • Send good quality pictures.

Pictures that are dark, too small, blurry, too many shadows, in black and white or of poor quality will not render properly.

  • Photographs cannot be engraved!

To be able to engrave your child's footprint on your chosen charm, upload his footprint (made using paint or ink directly on white paper: this will guarantee the best rendering once engraved!) Avoid prints made in plaster or clay as contrast is important to reproduce the hand/foot details.
We are not able to reproduce photos of people. You can however ask your little artist to draw your family!

How is it created?

The HappyBulle team crafts your jewellery or accessories according to your wishes. When you entrust a drawing to our team, our graphic designers will modify your photo to only keep the outlines.

According to the material of the piece of jewellery or accessory you wish to engrave, diverse engraving techniques may be used:

  • Jewellery & accessories made of gold plated, sterling silver and stainless steel: the drawing outlines, written words or pictograms are diamond engraved, ensuring a long-lasting result.
  • Jewellery & accessories made of acrylic and wood: the drawing outlines, written words or pictograms are laser engraved for a rendering astonishingly precise.
  • Press accessories: the drawing lines are printed in black on a coloured background of your choice and integrated into our press accessories. Or you can keep the original colours of the drawing.

Send the appropriate file

Have you taken a picture of your child's drawing but you're unsure of the file quality? Don't worry: the information below will help you upload a file to assure the best rendering for your engraving!

Optimal file

Opt for a felt-tip pen drawing that has a great contrast with the paper. Make the hand/footprints using paint and fingerprints using ink: these ensure the best result! Also, make sure to upload a good quality file.

To be avoided

Avoid prints made in clay or plaster, pencil drawings, pastel colours, shadowed or blurry pictures, on squared or coloured paper, black and white pictures, or poor resolution files.

File impossible to reproduce

Photographs cannot be reproduced.

Useful tips

Don't miss any drawing!

Children draw everywhere and anytime...On a wall, a board, a piece of paper...Their best artworks are most of the time spontaneous and temporary. Make sure you take pictures of them. Mobile phone cameras now provide very good quality, are easy to use, and always at hand.

Try a hand/finger/footprint!

If your child is too young to draw, why don't you opt for a reproduction of his hand/footprint? For the best rendering, use undiluted paint applied directly on your child's hand or foot. Then press firmly on white paper... and you are done! As an alternative, reproduce your child's fingerprint on a charm, a beautiful memory to treasure!

Immortalise their first written words!

Is there anything cuter than a "Mummy I love you" note, written in their shaky handwriting? Make sure you take pictures of each note, you will be glad to come across them in your phone gallery when it comes to personalising your piece of jewellery. Creating a priceless keepsake made easy.

Children's words

We forget all too quickly the funny and tender expressions of their childhood... Keep them listed in a notebook or in your phone so you can easily personalise a piece of jewellery, a keyring or an accessory. A great gift idea for a grandparent!

A keepsake for every age!

First doodles, then a stick man, then mummy and her baby bump... You can personalise a pendant with drawings from each age. And make sure to add the artist's name and the date on the back of the pendant.
